Point Clouds for Maintenance Holes in Pioneer

Open the 3D Model panel to inspect a maintenance-hole point cloud and take measurements from supported Manhole Assessment Certification Program (MACP) 360 footage.

Before you start

• Open a cloud MACP inspection with generated 3D data
• Use a known physical dimension if you need to verify scale

MACP Level 1 and ordinary flat videos do not produce a 3D model. A blank panel alone does not identify why a model is missing.

Open and move around the model

1. Open 3D Model next to Video.
2. Use the mouse wheel to zoom.
3. Drag to rotate the model.
4. Select Top or Side for an aligned view.

Use Pointcloud, 3D Model and Circles to choose available layers. The model layer is available only when a mesh exists. Where payout data is available, the white marker and red line show the video position; dragging the marker moves the video.

Take a measurement

1. Turn on Measure Mode, or hold Shift.
2. Drag between the two points you want to measure.
3. Read the result beside Measured.

Use Axis Lock to constrain a measurement horizontally or vertically. The web readout shows feet, meters, inches and millimeters together. This display does not convert the inspection’s stored units.

Verify and adjust scale

Viewing and measuring are separate from saving changes. Scale, Reset Scale and dragging measurement bars update inspection data and require permission to update the inspection. Viewers can measure but cannot save those changes.

1. Measure a known physical reference.
2. Open Scaling.
3. Enter the reference’s actual dimension in Actual Measured (inches).
4. Select Scale.
5. Check the known reference again before measuring the inspection feature.

Scaling also updates MACP header measurements and observation distances. Measure the actual frame or chimney separately after verifying scale; the calibration reference is not that feature’s dimension.

Use Reset Scale to reset an applied scale. Use Unlock Bars before moving a measurement bar and Lock Bars when finished. Moving a bar saves its corresponding measurement or position.

Download 3D data

1. Open the cloud control labelled Download 3D data when the files are available.
2. Select Download LAS File or Download 3D Model.

These are direct 3D artifacts, separate from a video or export package. If the files or controls are missing, contact support with the inspection link and the missing item.
