Understanding and Troubleshooting 3D Model Rendering

Last updated: April 15, 2026

When MACP inspection videos are uploaded to PIONEER, the system can automatically generate 3D models (if the project is configured for 3D). This article explains rendering stages, common issues, and how to resolve them.

Rendering Process Stages

3D model generation progresses through the following stages:

  • Ingesting – The system is processing the uploaded video

  • Rendering 3D – The 3D model is being generated

  • Complete – The model is fully rendered and available for viewing

Common Issues and Solutions

Long Rendering Times

Rendering typically takes up to 24 hours. During high-volume periods, processing may take longer.

What to do:

  • Wait up to 24 hours for completion

  • If rendering exceeds 24 hours, contact Support

Failed or Incomplete Models

3D models may fail to render properly due to:

  • Excessive camera movement during or after the scan

  • Poor lighting conditions

  • Unclear pipe connections or structural details

  • Dirt, water, or debris on the camera lens

How to Resolve Rendering Issues

If a model fails or appears incomplete, Support can assist by:

  • Trimming unnecessary footage from the video

  • Reprocessing the inspection through the rendering workflow

  • Adjusting video parameters to improve model quality

Need Additional Help?

If your 3D model is not rendering correctly:

  • Contact Support

  • Provide the inspection URL for review

Our team can analyze the issue and attempt to reprocess the model as needed.
