Quick Video: Creating an Inspection
This instructional video shows how to create an inspection with the Pioneer On Truck Software with the three observation codes required for syncing to the cloud. Customers who are labeling without the aid of AutoCode are able to add other observations prior to uploading.
Logging into Pioneer On Truck Software
Note: To run Pioneer On Truck Software while disconnected from wifi or other internet devices/sources, you must log in while internet is available and leave the software logged in. This software should retain your credentials and continue to function normally while not connected to the internet.
Launch Pioneer from the icon installed on your desktop.
โ
Click "Log In" located in the upper right of the screen.
โ
Log in with the account credentials assigned to the truck or your individual account.
Note: To utilize the "Sync to Cloud" feature, the Pioneer account must be either Admin, Editor/Inspector or Truck Uploader.
The "Field Inspections" page is the first page displayed upon login. If this is not the page that is displayed on your screen click on "Field Inspections" on the left side navigation bar (highlighted in yellow in the screen shot below).
"Field Inspections" is the main page that most CCTV Operators will utilize. To learn more about the other areas of Pioneer, such as Inspections or Review Tasks, visit our collection of step-by-step guides at https://help.sewerai.com/en/collections/2429204-how-to-use-the-pioneer-platform
Creating a New Inspection
Click on the blue "Create Inspection" button located in the upper right of the "Field Inspections" page.
A dropdown menu will appear. Click on "Blank Inspection" for either PACP or LACP if this is the first inspection that is being created. If this is a subsequent inspection, clicking on "Prefilled from Previous" will bring in the information from the prior inspection header fields.
Note: Pioneer On Truck Software currently only supports an independent LACP inspection that is separate from a PACP inspection. This software does not support the pause mainline - launch lateral - resume mainline inspection sequence.
After selecting the inspection type the new inspection screen will open.
Complete the NASSCO required fields in the "Header - Inspection Info" section located in the upper left of the screen. Checking the checkbox next to "Only NASSCO Issues" will display only required fields that must be completed.
Additional fields may become required based on the data entered or per the requirements of your organization.
After completing the header info, set the starting distance in the "Distance" field located on the "Recorder" section prior to the start of the video inspection.
Note: You may need to scroll down in the "Recorder" section to see the "Distance" field and red record button.
Click the red record button to begin the inspection. This button can be clicked again to pause the video and resumed as needed. Once the inspection has been completed, click on the blue "Complete Recording" button.
If labeling observations in the field, observations can be entered at any point during or after the inspection.
If the inspection is being created and then uploaded to Pioneer for processing with AutoCode, three observations need to be entered on the inspection prior to syncing:
AMH - Access Point One
MWL - Water Level
AMH - Access Point Two
To add an observation either click on the plus symbol on the upper right of the "Observations" section or use keyboard shortcut Ctrl+D.
Note: All NASSCO issues that are indicated in the upper right of the "Observations" section must be resolved prior to syncing the inspection. Red donut shaped circles help indicate where on the observation data must be entered.
After completing the steps above, return to the "Field Inspections" page by clicking on this option on the left side navigation menu.
Syncing and Archiving Data
In the upper left portion of the "Field Inspections" screen, there are three tabs "Not Synced", "Synced", and "Archived".
Not Synced - Includes all Inspections that have been created but not yet uploaded to the Pioneer cloud.
Synced - All inspections that have been uploaded to the Pioneer cloud.
Archived - Inspections that need to be discarded.
To upload completed inspection(s) from the "Not Synced" section, click on the checkbox on the left side next to the inspection(s).
The "Sync to Cloud" button located in the upper right of the screen will become active. Click "Sync to Cloud" (internet connection is required to sync).
The inspection(s) will move from the "Not Synced" to the "Synced" tab on the "Field Inspections" screen. The inspection(s) will begin "Ingesting" and will be available for review by others in your organization once the status changes to "Uploaded" on the "Inspections" area (the "Inspections" screen is generally not utilized by field operations but can be accessed from the left side navigation menu).
Note: If the "Sync to Cloud" button is not active after checking the box(es) next to the inspection(s), review the selected inspection(s) for NASSCO issues that need to be resolved.
Congratulations on completing your first CCTV inspection!
Note: If the need arises due to internet connectivity failure or other factors that require inspections to be placed on a thumb drive and uploaded in the office, please follow the Syncing Truck (Field) Inspections from the Office instructions.
Archiving Unwanted Inspections
If there are inspection(s) that needs to be discarded, click on the box next to the inspection(s) on the "Not Synced" screen and then click on the "Archive" button which is located in the upper right of the screen.
