Want to reduce manual data entry, decrease errors, and boost productivity? Want to upload the entire scope of a project before it starts? Try pre-filling inspection Header data in PIONEER.

This is a 2-step workflow:

  1. Pre-make your header rows via MDB, CSV or Excel import

  2. Start field inspections via our Desktop app right from the main dashboard

Pre-making Headers via MDB

To pre-make Header rows with an MDB, use our traditional "Upload Files" action, but only provide an MDB database.

Once you finish the upload, yellow "Upload Pending" rows will appear in PIONEER>

Pre-making Headers via CSV or Excel

Where to Find It

The option to "Create Bulk Inspections" is available both on the main Dashboard page with a button

and on the Projects side panel when you create or edit a project, after you save the project name, on the "Import CSV" tab

How It Works

  1. Once you press "Import CSV" you are presented a drag and drop interface. Add your CSV or Excel file here.

2. Next, define your header row

3. Now, match your column names to NASSCO header fields. The AI will make recommendations, but you can change them. You can also "Ignore" fields you don't want.

4. Finally, clean the data by matching field choices, e.g. Materials

5. The software will surface any known issues. In this example, the software knows that "Cotton Candy" is not a pipe material. You can correct errors right in this table, or go back and fix them on prior screens or in your own CSV.

6. Press "Finish" and in under a minute, "Upload Pending" rows will appear in PIONEER!

Starting Inspections from the Dashboard

Once you have a yellow "Upload Pending" row, if you are using our Desktop (truck) software, all you have to do is navigate to an inspection and click the "Record" button.

Go to the main Inspections page

This is different than "Field Inspections." Use the magnifying glass icon.

Filter for Your Inspection

Use our powerful filters to find your Project, sort your columns, or search by Pipe Segment Reference, Upstream MH, DownstreamMH, Lateral Segment Reference, or Manhole Number.

Note: our asset search takes wildcard

Click the big red "Record" button at the end of the row

Rather than a "Play" button you will see a "Record" button; click it to start an inspection recording with prefilled data for the header.
