Pre Meeting Checklist

Complete the premeeting checklist prior to your scheduled installation date and send all information to [email protected].

  • Obtain “About this Computer” screen shot from the computer that will be preforming inspections on the truck

  • Specify how many trucks Pioneer will be installed on and each truck's hardware and video card setups.

    • Documentation should include the name of all on truck types (Cues, RST, etc.), the truck name(s), and equipment settings.

    • Confirm that the CCTV hardware is in the support hardware (list is located at the end of these instructions).

  • Confirm that there is internet connectivity on the truck(s) for installation.

  • Confirm that you have accounts for the truck(s) based on your need and current contract.*

    • If your business plan is to perform labeling of observations in the field, an "Inspector/Editor" or "Admin" level account will be needed for each truck or user depending on your business needs.

    • If your business plan is to video in the field for the purpose of uploading to Pioneer for AutoCode processing, a "Truck License" will be needed.

  • Confirm that the user logins for your account have been logged into, password set and the terms of service (TOS) have been completed.

    • This includes an email verification done prior to installation. If there are any issues receiving emails due to spam filtering, reach out to our team through the chat function or [email protected] for assistance.

  • On the day of the installation be sure to have a measuring tape and regular tape available in case distance needs to be calibrated.

* Reach out to your Business Development Manager or [email protected] if you have any questions regarding your account setup or if you would like to purchase additional Pioneer account licenses.

Installing Pioneer On Truck Software

Note: Sometimes Zoom hijacks the video feed of the on truck computer during configuration and a secondary device is needed to host the Zoom meeting during the configuration. The SewerAI team will work with you to determine the best way to complete the configuration.

  • After the download has completed, double-click and install Pioneer.

  • For Windows systems:

    • a message will likely appear confirming you want to allow PIONEER to use the Internet to communicate. We suggest selecting both "Private" and "Public" networks as appropriate, and clicking "Allow access

    • After installation has completed launch the Pioneer Desktop On Truck Application from the desktop icon.

  • Log in to Pioneer (upper right corner of screen).

Configuring Pioneer On Truck Software

Configure the Pioneer On Truck software settings with SewerAI Support Team, at least for the first truck

  • Make sure that the video inspection camera and equipment is powered on.

  • Go to "Truck Settings" located in lower left in the side menu bar.

  • Enter or select:

    • Truck Name

    • Serial Port

    • Video Card

    • Baud Rate

    • Truck Type

    • Clicks per foot (only for RST = 10)

    • Show Distance Counter - Yes

  • Click on "Test Connection" button to confirm configuration is correct.

  • Set the "Local Inspection Folder" on the on truck computer. The location of this folder must be on the hard drive of the local computer (normally drive C: or D:).

Running a Test Inspection

Run a test inspection after the configuration has been completed.

  • Click on "Field Inspections" located on left hand navigation menu bar.

  • Click on "Create a New Inspection" located on the upper right of the screen.

  • The video should only display the overlay from the Pioneer software. If the video is showing more than one overlay, the configuration settings need to be adjusted.

  • Resolve all NASSCO issues in "Inspection Header" section.

    • Clicking on the checkbox next to "Only NASSCO Issues" will display only the required fields for faster entry. The fields required may change depending on the data that is entered.

  • Three entries are recommended in the "Observations" section prior to syncing to the cloud. The AutoCode™ process can fill these in for you, if operators have cleanly entered the Header data.

    • A new observation can be created by using keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+D". The NASSCO required observations are the two access points and the water level.

      • AMH - Access Point One

      • MWL - Water Level

      • AMH (or other "A" code or "MSA")- Access Point Two

  • Confirm and calibrate distance (if needed).

  • Then can go to the "Field Inspections" main page by clicking the back arrow in the upper left of the screen or by clicking on "Field Inspections" located on the left side menu bar.

    • The test inspection should be listed on the "Not Synced" tab on the "Field Inspections" screen.

  • Check the box next to test inspection that was just created then click "Sync to Cloud" located on the upper right of the screen.

    • If this button does not active then there are likely NASSCO issues that must be resolved in either the "Inspection Header Info" or the "Observations" section.

  • A sync to cloud popup window will appear, choose your account, create a new project name indicating that this is a test, and then click "Upload".

    • Allow the project upload to complete before initiating another action.

    • The inspection will move from "Not Synced" to the "Synced" tab.

  • The final tab on the "Field Inspections" screen is named "Archived". This is where inspections should be moved if they need to be discarded due to an unresolvable issue.

    • Archiving is done by checking the box next to the inspection on the "Not Synced" tab and then clicking the "Archive" button located in they upper right of the screen.
